A humble Christ-centered life among believers is an essential element in the local fellowship, and also serves as a testimony to an unbelieving world. Thus, the act and attitude of humility should be the normal way of life for each believer in the Christian assembly. Specifically, humility should govern our attitude toward our elders as well as toward one another. The key to having this be our godly testimony is how we view the greatness and holiness of God. While we are challenged by Christ’s example of humility we must realize that the only way we can achieve this level of spiritual maturity is by a Spirit-filled life while abiding in Christ.
